Cognitive Considerations:

  • OHAUS Scout SKX (SKX2201) represents a portable digital scale that holds up to daily student use. Construction and capabilities are high-end for student use. You can expect years of reliable use out of this work-horse. We suggest using digital scales as early as grade 6 if prior understanding and use of a traditional triple beam balance has been established. Students should have an understanding of the underlying principles of weight & mass before moving on to digital scales.
  • Either use the plate as is, or couple with weigh dishes to easily swap out measurables and keep the plate clean.
  • The digital scale is a natural evolution from the OHAUS triple beam balance.
