Cognitive Considerations:

  • OHAUS Compass CX (CX1201) represents an affordable and portable digital scale that holds up to daily student use. We suggest using digital scales as early as grade 6 if prior understanding and use of a traditional triple beam balance has been established. Students should have an understanding of the underlying principles of weight & mass before moving on to digital scales. Either use the plate as is, or couple with weigh dishes to easily swap out measurables and keep the plate clean.
  • The digital scale is a natural evolution from the OHAUS triple beam balance.
